Maple is known amongst friends and family for being the sweetest dog around. In 2024, we noticed that she was experiencing some problems with her (once blue) eye. That sweet blue eye was just one of the beautiful features that made her stand apart, helping her win "Most Unique Dog" when she was a puppy. But more than anything, her infectious happiness and goofy attitude is what won over the worlds hearts.

Maple was brought to the vet several times and was thought to have had a corneal ulcer. After weeks of eye-drops, consultations and more, nothing was working. 

Maple was brought to a specialist who determined that she had glaucoma and had been blind in that eye for some time. Shortly after her diagnosis, she was taken in for an inoculation and the eye was removed.

We couldn't believe it, she wasn't scared or confused with the changes and kept on being the happiest dog we've ever known. A few bumps into furniture here and there adjusting to her new field-of-view, but our girl was the same. 

This inspired us as her owners to push through our own challenges and use them as strengths. We may get knocked down (or run into coffee tables in Maples case...) but we'll always get back up.

As avid golfers, we wanted to take her story and help inspire others in a setting that we are passionate about. That's where you come in.
